Winton Community Academy took part in the annual fundraising event ‘Jeans for Genes Day” on Friday 22nd September 2017.
The yearly event raises awareness of Genetic Disorders and the money raised funds a range of initiatives that improve the quality of life for children affected by genetic disorders.
The charity says It is estimated that one in 25 children is affected by a genetic disorder and therefore 30,000 babies and children are newly diagnosed in the UK each year.
Students and staff dressed in denim for the day and raised a grand total of £448 to donate to the charity.
