Tea for Tools is back! Netley Marsh based charity Tools for Self Reliance are calling on the local community to help them send tools to Africa this year by holding a tea party between 8-14 July. The best bakes will win afternoon tea for two, courtesy of New Forest Kitchen Café, Spot in the Woods.
Many people will be familiar with Tools for Self Reliance from donating old tools and sewing machines when clearing out sheds and garages. These tools are refurbished by volunteers and shipped to Africa where they are used to provide life changing vocational training in trades such as carpentry, tailoring, and bricklaying.
Last year, the charity supported almost 2,000 people living in poverty to learn a trade and want this year’s Tea for Tools to help them reach even more. You can request a fundraising pack by visiting www.tfsr.org/contact-us , emailing Julia@tfsr.org or call 02380 869697.
The charity is also hosting its own Tea for Tools afternoon on 10 July, 2-4pm at Netley Marsh workshop, Ringwood Road, featuring home made tea and cake, archery, and a tool and haberdashery sale.
