Winchester’s TSB branch raises over £1,000 for Friends of the Family

The Winchester branch of TSB has raised over £1,000 for its Local Charity Partner, Friends of the Family. The Winchester-based charity, which offers support and friendship to children and families across the district, has been the Local Charity Partner of TSB since September 2016.

To raise funds, TSB Partners have undertaken events throughout the year including a cake sale, an Easter-Egg raffle and a Christmas tombola. They also received numerous donations from the public who are keen to support the local family charity, and raised awareness of its need for volunteers.

Viv Wheeler, Chair of Trustees, visited TSB on Thursday 17 January, to receive the cheque from Branch Manager Jack Berry.

I am thrilled to accept this cheque on behalf of Friends of the Family,” said Viv. “The team at TSB have worked hard to raise a substantial amount of money and we are extremely grateful for their support. This money means that we can continue to run our Dads Aloud group for a further six months and also offer bespoke training to mums and dads to improve family relationships.

Jack Berry, Manager at TSB Winchester, said:

We are very proud to support a fantastic local charity which does phenomenal work for children and families across Winchester. It’s great to hear that the money will directly benefit parents and children and support them through difficult times.

Since 2015, TSB has supported nearly 1,300 local causes from across Britain chosen from thousands of nominations from customers, members of the public and Partners who work for the bank. Up to February 2018, TSB Partners raised more than £1.57m and spent hundreds of hours volunteering to help support local charities. Further detail on TSB’s Local Charity Partnerships can be found at
