Naomi House & Jacksplace is through to the nomination stage of the Persimmon Homes Building Futures project, giving the children’s hospice the chance to win up to £100,000. But the charity needs your help!
Regional housebuilder, Persimmon Homes, has teamed up with Team GB to create the ‘Building Futures’ project, which gives 96 causes, including Naomi House & Jacksplace, the chance to win up to £100,000 through a national online public vote.
The cash prize from this project would go towards building a brand new interactive sensory garden at Naomi House & Jacksplace. The garden will be a new area linking the Naomi House and Jacksplace gardens, providing a multitude of sensory spaces based on the 5 senses. Each space will create interaction with the user for therapy, relaxation and play, using inclusive and wheelchair accessible equipment. There will be active play spaces as well as quieter relaxation spaces for contemplation and therapy. The garden will be designed to engage, develop and bring joy and happiness to the life limited and life threatened children and young adults at Naomi House & Jacksplace.
The hospices are putting a call out to the general public and asking everyone to cast their vote in favour of Naomi House & Jacksplace. Voting takes less than 30 seconds and anyone can vote once a day, every day until voting closes at midnight on 18 September 2020.
Suzie Simmons, Head of Regional and Corporate Fundraising, said:
We have a major project to create a new sensory garden at Naomi House & Jacksplace, which will be a fully accessible interactive space that all users of the hospices will benefit from. But we need your help! Please make a huge difference to the life limited and life threatened children, young adults and families in our care by voting for us in the Persimmon Homes Building Futures project, giving us the chance to win up to £100,000. You can vote every 24 hours until voting closes, so please, vote every day to support your local hospices. Don’t forget to share the link with friends and families to give us an even greater chance of winning. Thank you so much for your support.
Thank you also to Persimmon Homes for this incredible opportunity.

Building Futures is being delivered through the Persimmon Charitable Foundation. Through the scheme, a total of 128 grants of £1,000 have been awarded to groups supporting sport, education & arts and health across Persimmon’s 31 regional businesses and its head office, including Naomi House & Jacksplace. This donation will also go towards the creation of the hospice’s sensory garden. To find out more about the Persimmon Charitable Foundation, visit: https://www.persimmonhomes.com/charity/
Naomi House & Jacksplace hospices provide respite, end of life care and bereavement support to hundreds of children and young adults with life threatening and life limiting conditions from across seven counties. The hospices have now reopened to provide planned respite care after altering its service to free-up NHS beds during the worst of the pandemic. The charity needs to raise £9.2 million annually to provide a complete service. With events postponed and shops closed, the charity’s fundraising efforts have been severely hampered since March.
