Viewfinders of Romsey Camera Club competition – July 2020

Still unable to meet as usual, Viewfinders of Romsey Camera Club has been meeting via the internet and recently held this year’s Les Frederick Trophy. In normal circumstances there are two categories in this competition but this year there was just one: all entries had to be images taken since the start of lockdown.

Sixty images were entered, giving the judge, Leo Rich from Salisbury, a busy evening. The eventual winner was Mary Gardiner’s “One of Life’s Certainties”. Leo described this as a “very nice still life”. Second place was also awarded to a still life image: “Flower Still Life” by Roy Lambeth. Julie Darby’s topical “Beware the Virus” was third. Mary and Julie also received Seals of Merit for another image each; Terry Jamieson received two Seals and Jackie Ridout also received one Seal.
