This Friday, 9 August is the second of the Four Fun Fridays of the month in Andover High Street and is packed full of great street theatre and lots of participatory workshops for families to get involved with.
This second FREE day of High Street events has an ‘around the world’ theme, so prepare to be transported to exotic climes with street theatre performances from Jaardu – Magic of India and The Bombadiers from Rhubarb Theatre, bump into giant kangaroos on amazing bouncing stilts, take part in craft workshops including ‘make a snapshot of famous places around the world’, and not forgetting free face painting for young and old alike!
There will also be representation from some of the local community groups in Andover, bringing a flavour of their cultures to the High Street, including a Nepalese traditional dance.
Leader of the council, councillor Phil North said:
Four Fun Fridays is a great summer holiday initiative to encourage lots of visitors and families to come and enjoy Andover and spend a little time in the town. Perhaps best of all, the family friendly activities are free, which is perfect when trying to keep children occupied over a long six weeks.
To help stem holiday boredom there are still two more fabulous Four Fun Fridays taking place on 16 and 23 August, each with a different theme, so why not come and try them all?
