Bubble Rush is back with a foam-tastic fun run at Wide Lane Sports Ground in Southampton on Saturday 18th July with lead charity, Naomi House & Jacksplace, hospices for seriously ill children and young adults in central southern England.
Bubble Rush is the fun run through coloured bubbles. The event starts in a sea of foam and around the course are four bubble stations where foam canons pump out masses of coloured bubbles, ending in a huge foam bath. There is no minimum or maximum age limit, and each course is pushchair and wheelchair friendly, so ‘bubblers’ of all ages and abilities are welcome to take part.
Bubble Rush events take place around the country, raising funds for local hospices and NHS charities. The fundraising team at Naomi House & Jacksplace hope that families will get their bubble on and raise a froth-tastic sum by getting sponsored to take on the bubbles. There is no minimum fundraising requirement, but the charity is asking people to do as much fundraising as they can to support their vital work that supports over 600 local families.
Bubble Rush and Naomi House & Jacksplace are also running events in Portsmouth, Andover and Poole, throughout May and July.
Marketing Manager for Bubble Rush Diana Caldwell says:
Last year’s events in Portsmouth and Southampton saw over 2000 bubblers of all ages run, walk and even dance through the bubbles. We’re so excited to be working with Naomi House & Jacksplace again this year, and to be adding two new venues to our summer tour. Every bubbly step that people take can raise vital funds for Naomi House & Jacksplace, to help them continue to provide respite and emergency care, end-of-life care and ongoing bereavement support.
Charlotte Patrick, Events Fundraiser for Naomi House & Jacksplace says:
Last year’s Bubble Rush was incredi-bubble so we are extremely excited to be able to work with Bubble Rush again for not just one, but four events! Our supporters absolutely loved getting covered in coloured bubbles on Southsea Common last year, so we are pleased that we’re able to offer this fantastic fundraising opportunity to our wonderful supporters in Southampton, Eastleigh and Romsey. This isn’t an event to miss, so sign up soon to take advantage of the early bird prices.
Tickets for the event are on sale now, with a Super Early Bird discount running until 16th February. The tickets are priced at £15 an adult, £8 a child (aged 3-15) and £42 for a family ticket. The entry price includes a Bubble Rush t-shirt to wear at the event and a finisher’s medal.
Naomi House needs to raise £9.2 million each year in order to run a full service and deliver its plans. The charity receives less than 11% of its income from statutory sources, meaning that the vast majority of the charity’s income comes from the generous donations of individuals, groups and companies. It is this dedicated fundraising that allows the hospices to continue to offer their services to families free of charge. The charity is the region’s specialist children’s hospice and services offered include respite and emergency care, end-of-life care and ongoing bereavement support, thanks to a dedicated nursing and family support team.
