Stroud School in Hampshire will be welcoming fundraising extraordinaire Shadi Ganjavian-Connorto on Tuesday 27th November, who will be accepting a cheque from the students on behalf of the Murray Parish Trust.
Earlier this month, the Murray Parish Trust in partnership with Southampton Hospital Charity reached their £2 million goal to build a dedicated children’s Emergency and Trauma Department at University Hospital Southampton. Founded by Hampshire celebrity couple James Murray and Sarah Parish in memory of their daughter, Ella-Jayne, the charity has already raised £400,000 for the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, but took their mission one step further by launching their #2MillionSteps campaign in 2016.
Last year, Stroud students raised £980 for the charity, which will be doubled as the campaign secured match-funding from the government. The students are thrilled to have supported Murray Parish Trust in reaching their total and, by extension, contributed to the foundation of this life-saving department for their peers.
Shadi Ganjavian-Connor has championed the charity through her sponsored physical feats. She has raised the profile of the charity by climbing to the summit of The Matterhorn last summer. The Murray Parish Trust Ambassador’s next challenge is an Antarctic mission, and she will be bringing some kit with her to show the students at Stroud.
