Staff at Brendoncare Alton are finalists in the Great British Care Awards

Logo. BrendoncareWinchester-based charity, The Brendoncare Foundation, is pleased to announce that Sean Daly, Deputy Manager, and Elaine Parsons, Receptionist, at Brendoncare Alton have been nominated as finalists for the Great British Care Awards.

 

Sean Daly, Deputy Manager, is a finalist in the Good Nurse Award category. He has been recognised for his clinical excellence and leading by example. He is trained in dementia care and his care and attention to the residents is exemplary. He also helps train his colleagues in dementia care. He said:

It was such a surprise to be nominated and I thank my colleagues for putting me forward for this award and noticing my input. I am quite shy and don’t like to sing and shout about what I do!

 

Elaine Parsons, Receptionist, is a finalist in the Care Home Worker Award category. She has worked for Brendoncare Alton for 20 years and is an integral part of the whole care home team. She is recognised for her commitment to supporting staff, residents and visitors in the home. She is always willing to help others whenever she can. She had this to say:

I was completely shocked to have been nominated and then shortlisted for the Great British Care Awards. To be recognised for doing a job that I really enjoy is amazing.

 

The Great British Care Awards are a series of regional awards throughout the UK, celebrating excellence in the care sector. The awards pay tribute to individuals and teams who are recognised as outstanding within their field of work.

 

This year, judging will be via online interviews and will take place in November. Winners of the Great British Care Awards will be presented with their awards at a Gala Evening in April 2021 at The Hilton Hotel, Brighton.

 

Lynne Hewitt, General Manager at Brendoncare Alton, said:

We are absolutely delighted that Sean and Elaine have been shortlisted for these awards. They are truly deserving of the nominations; their dedication and commitment to providing the best possible care for residents of Brendoncare Alton is outstanding.

Brendoncare Alton provides nursing care for 80 people, as well as specialist care for people living with dementia, including respite care.
