Logo.Theatre Royal Winchester logo-1Fans of Ella Fitzgerald should pay a visit to Theatre Royal Winchester’s Cafe Bar for an intimate evening of jazz with Winchester’s very own Louisa Revolta, on Tuesday 11 February, at 7pm.

Best known as one-third of local vintage vocal harmony group, The Spitfire Sisters, Louisa specializes in jazz singing, scat improvisation and vocal mimicry and has entertained audiences around the world. She also plays alto saxophone and has performed at club nights and with function bands around the UK and internationally.

Louisa will celebrate the release of her new album, A Centenary of Ella Fitzgerald, by singing hits from the American singer, dubbed ‘The First Lady of Song’; winner of countless Grammy awards; and known for songs such as Summertime, Cry Me A River and Dream A Little Dream of Me.

She will be joined by pianist Steve Christie and bassist Pete Maxfield. The show was last performed to a sellout audience, at the 2017 Winchester Jazz Festival.

Internationally acclaimed, The Spitfire Sisters are a familiar and well-loved act who started out learning the harmonies of The Andrews Sisters before writing and performing their own songs across the country – with highlights including The Orient Express, The Shard, Imperial War Museum, The Goodwood Revival, Larmer Tree Festival and Theatre Royal Winchester.

The Cafe Bar Jazz Nights are presented in conjunction with Winchester Jazz Festival.

All events take place at 7pm and tickets are £10. Available from the Box Office or via the theatre’s website, there is limited capacity for these events.
