Between 11.15am and 12pm on Friday, December 30, the window of a house on Romsey Road was forced open and items including an Apple Macbook Air laptop, diamond jewellery, and cash, were taken from inside the property.
It has been reported that a white high top van was parked outside the house at the time of the incident.
Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the burglary, or who saw a vehicle matching this description in the area at this time.
PC Adam Merrick said:
A number of high value items were stolen during this incident, and we are keen to identify those responsible.
This incident happened during daylight hours, so someone may have seen something – whether it was someone acting suspiciously in the area, or the vehicle that was parked outside.
I would urge anyone with information to contact police immediately.

• Residents are urged to ensure that their property is secure, all front and side gates are locked and that expensive items are not left on display.
• It is recommended to invest in a safe that can be bolted to the floor where expensive jewellery can be secured.
• Residents should also consider fitting security lighting and alarms where appropriate.
