Perins School supports  The Murray Parish Trust

As schools all over the country reopen their doors today, students of the Perins School Theatre in Alresford, where The Murray Parish Trust is based, have marked their return with a stunning performance of ‘Beautiful City’ from the musical ‘Godspell’ which you can hear on YouTube.

The words of Stephen Schwartz’s ‘Beautiful City’ speak hopefully of collectively creating a better world, a message which the Perins students share as we emerge from these quiet, reflective times feeling positive and thankful. They dedicated the song, not only for the Perins community, but for all students across the country, the inspirational NHS staff, key workers and teachers, who’ve shown such commitment through these challenging and unprecedented times.

They have chosen to support The Murray Parish Trust which was founded in 2014 by actors James Murray and Sarah Parish in memory of their late daughter Ella-Jayne, and is dedicated to the advancement of paediatric emergency medicine across the South of England including the Channel Islands.

Sarah
says:

The ongoing support of the local community means so much to us and is vital to the charity’s ability to continue to support Southampton Hospital’s long-term goals as well as the inspirational NHS staff who’ve worked so tirelessly throughout this crisis.

Jim adds:

The charity, which has successfully raised almost £5 million to date to redevelop the Children’s Emergency and Trauma Department, is currently working in partnership with Southampton Hospital to raise £5.5 million to create an intra-operative MRI Suite. An iMRI Suite will enable the hospital to undertake real time brain scans during surgery for life-threatening conditions including brain tumours, head trauma, epilepsy and hydrocephalus increasing the chance that abnormalities can be removed totally, safely and successful in a single operation.
