Brave cyclist Ben Arnett recently took on a challenge of a lifetime as he cycled between all eight of the Blue Sky Fostering offices, covering a total distance of 500 miles in just 5 days, all in aid of charity.
The offices span 5 counties across the south, including Hampshire where he will visit Swanwick, Romsey, Ringwood and Basingstoke. The longest day of cycling will involve a 135 mile journey between local base Ringwood and Ivybridge in Devon.
Ben embarked on the challenge on Monday 24th September starting in Chatham, Kent and was cheered on by his girlfriend Sophie Bright, a Blue Sky Social Worker at the agencies Portslade office.
The Childs i Foundation is supported yearly by Blue Sky Fostering and helps place abandoned children in Uganda among fostering families. Sophie is travelling out to visit the charity this October to share her skills as a social worker and to see first-hand how the funds raised from the cycle will be put to use.
Ben was also on a personal mission to raise funds for Diabetes UK and proved that living with the condition doesn’t mean you can’t push yourself to your limits!
Diabetes UK is the leading charity for people affected by diabetes. From care and support to prevention, campaigning, fundraising and research, Diabetes UK is tackling the fastest-growing health threat in the UK.
Ben’s epic journey finished at another of Blue Sky’s Hampshire based offices in Basingstoke where he was greeted by family, friends and many of the agency’s staff and fostering families. Track his journey via his Strava click here.
