New Forest charity, Olivia Inspires which was launched at the end of 2019 has £1000s to give to young people to help them realise their dreams thanks to a series of successful fundraising events over the Christmas period.
JazzSmart, a group of musicians based at New Milton’s Forest Arts staged their Christmas Big Band concert. A great night was had by all and a collection was held for Olivia Inspires.
Milford on Sea’s Flute Group made Olivia Inspires their charity of the year and collected donations at their Christmas Concert at Milford Community Centre; a concert at St Mary’s Church, Everton; busking in Angel Court, Lymington and playing for Lymington Voluntary Care Group at South Lawn Hotel, Milford.
Milford on Sea Rainbows, Brownies and Guides ran Santa’s Grotto in the village during Carols Around the Christmas Tree. Santa was kept extremely busy and all of the profits were donated to Olivia Inspires.
Further fundraising events are planned, but the priority now is to get the message out to young people, that Olivia Inspires might be able to help them realise their potential.
Olivia’s father and founder of the charity said:
A steady stream of applications for support has been received via the Olivia Inspires website and the first grants have been awarded to a variety of richly deserving young people. We now want to see many more applicants from young people who need a helping hand to achieve their dreams.
