The latest business partnership to make a home in the Central Winchester Regeneration (CWR) area, which will be known as Saxon Gate, celebrated in style at an official opening event.
The Bike Hub at Open House Deli is an exciting new partnership between Bespoke Biking and Open House Deli, which took up residency in the Old Post Office in Middle Brook Street in January. The partnership hosted the event to officially open the premises and they were joined by local businesses, friends and stakeholders who have supported the venture.
Since opening its doors, the partnership has proved extremely popular with residents, shoppers and tourists, giving the area a new vibrancy.
The partnership was formed after owners Heather Evans, of Bespoke Biking, and Rebecca Smith, of Open House Deli, met while networking in Winchester. Both businesses were looking for new premises in the city to enable them to expand but were unable to find somewhere that fitted their requirements or budget until the council invited them to make a proposal for the Old Post Office.
Our first few months in the Old Post Office have been amazing and the feedback and reaction from everyone has been very positive. We are really looking forward to welcoming people to our official opening event, so they can see us in full swing. It will be great to celebrate with all the people who have supported us.
It has been our hope to build a place that is about promoting a healthy lifestyle and creating a space that is welcoming for all. Now we are open, the space works better than we ever dreamed possible and we are so excited at ways we can develop in the future. We’re definitely at the beginning of the journey. We are very grateful to the council for their support and we are looking forward to developing our venture during the regeneration of this important part of the city.
Winchester City Council is delighted to have supported the event and the partnership. Both businesses share the council’s vision and determination to bring a new lease of life to the area, making it an attractive and vibrant place for everyone.
Leader of the Council, Cllr Caroline Horrill, who is also Chair of the Cabinet Committee responsible for Saxon Gate, said:
In just a short space of time The Bike Hub at Open House Deli has become a firm favourite with shoppers and visitors. It was fantastic to see the venue officially opened in style.
The future of our city is our residents and our businesses, and we are proud to support these two unique and creative organisations through their business journey.
Before going into business together Bespoke Biking and Open House Deli built up a strong reputation within Winchester for providing quality services to residents, shoppers and tourists, after starting life in the Winchester market
