You will certainly find something for the ‘Big Kids’ in this funky, fun & fresh new store in Andover Town Centre. Thanks to the Andover Business Improvement District (BID) The Geek Emporium will be opening its doors on Friday 4th December in Andover Town Centre.
The Andover BID had recently advertised this unit in Andover town centre as a great opportunity for a small or fledgling business. This caught the attention of Stuart Gatward, who previously, with his own small company trading online, came forward.
This is a fantastic opportunity for me, I was looking for a retail opportunity for my business, which is currently on line and at fairs, but couldn’t afford the rental of a town centre unit. My customers are from all over the place and I have a great following, both local and further afield, people will travel for the Geek Emporium. I was due to open in mid-August but had to delay it until this Friday because of the second lockdown.
Steve Godwin, Andover BID Manager says:
We are delighted to welcome Stuart and the Geek Emporium to Andover. The Andover BID is working very hard during a difficult trading environment to bring vitality to the town. Although across the country we are seeing failures from some large retail chains, there is still strong interest from independent traders such as Stuart. The Andover BID also brought to the town, Alex McGarry Studios which is next to the Geek Emporium, Alex recently celebrated her first year of trading in the town. One of the reasons that people come into town is for the experience and with a healthy number of established and new quirky independent businesses, we are optimistic for the future.
