With the announcement of the most recent lockdown, Naomi House & Jacksplace, the regions specialist hospices for seriously ill children and young adults, announce they are hosting their new virtual event with ‘Naomi & Jack’s Big Mexican Night In’ on Thursday 26th November at 7.30pm.

The idea to host a purely virtual fundraising event was originally thought up in September and was inspired by some of the young adults at Jacksplace playing ‘Taco Jousting’ at the hospice. The young adults regularly play ‘Taco Jousting’, an enjoyable game which is accessible to wheelchair users and those with limited movement.

Staff at the hospices, have thought of everything people might need for a Mexican fiesta, with live entertainment from a mariachi duo, cooking and cocktail tips and party accessories. Tickets are just £5 per person and include a posted package made up of; Mexican flavours seasoning mix, ‘Taco Jousting’ game kit and instructions, themed party paper straws, tequila cocktail recipe and live music from mariachi duo; Beat Banditos. Discounted tickets are available for pairs and families too. There is also the opportunity to buy raffle tickets to win a range of prizes, including Patron tequila, dinner vouchers and more.

Lucy Gray, Regional Fundraiser for Naomi House & Jacksplace commented:

At a time when we can’t have any visitors to the hospices, we wanted to bring a part of the hospices to our supporters at their homes, that’s why we are so delighted to host the event from the hospices. We are so pleased to be able to add this special event to our fundraising calendar this year and hope to spread some fun at this strange time and raise some much needed funds. The event presents an opportunity to fill an evening in lockdown and experience good food, great music and games safely from home. I urge people to sign up soon, for what promises to be a great night!

Like everyone, the charity has suffered during Covid19, with many events being cancelled and a big decrease in fundraising opportunities overall. Working towards a more virtual approach to engaging supporters has been at the forefront of the planning at the hospices, hosting quizzes and live music on Facebook Live during the first lockdown and now launching their first ticketed virtual event.

Hosting an event on Zoom, means we can sell loads of tickets without having to worry about social distancing or work towards smaller amount of attendees, so we hope to have as many people join in as possible. Shake your maracas, don your sombreros and get your fiesta vibe on for ‘Naomi & Jack’s Big Mexican Night In’ with fun for all the family.

The event takes place on popular video app Zoom. To get involved, all people need is an internet connection and a Zoom login. Tickets are available now to buy online at

The packs will be sent out to everyone that buys tickets online. Last tickets will be available to buy online on Monday 23rd November.
