Meet the Test Valley Business Awards 2019 finalists: Employer of the Year Award

A chance to learn more about the TVBAwards2019 Employer of the Year Award finalists…

As the Test Valley Business Awards Gala Dinner & Awards Ceremony draws ever closer, taking place at the Army Flying Museum on 12th September, the spotlight is on the Employer of the Year finalists.

The Employer of the Year category is sponsored and judged by Simplyhealth, and recognises any business based in the Test Valley who employs staff; demonstrating commitment to and support for staff in ways that result in business success, and putting staff at the centre of their organisation.

The finalists in this category for 2019 are:

Pure Human Resources
Active Staff Ltd.
Aster Group UK

Simplyhealth’s Chief Operating Officer, Richard Gillies, commented:

Simplyhealth is delighted to sponsor the Employer of the Year category for a second year in a row. Our judging panel were impressed with the wide range of excellent entries from across Test Valley and the finalists we selected have all demonstrated how supporting employees is at the centre of their core values.

The 2019 Test Valley Business Awards Gala Dinner & Awards Ceremony, where this year’s winners will be announced, represents a great opportunity to hear about and celebrate the success of just some fascinating enterprises. It also allows guests to network with other local businesses and gain valuable publicity to promote themselves.

Of being shortlisted in this category, Lisa Armstrong of Active Staff Ltd. remarked:

We are delighted to have been shortlisted for this prestigious category. We spend our working hours finding employment for local people and whilst doing this, always consider our own employees giving them the best possible environment and benefits to assist them with their role. Job satisfaction and recognition is key and we believe we offer this to our highly valued team. We have grown as a company over the past 8 years, now with 2 branches and are opening a third in 2020.

Similarly, Stephanie Barnett of Pure Human Resources commented:

As an HR consultancy, we at Pure Human Resources are constantly supporting other businesses to be successful and exemplary employers, so to be finalists in the Test Valley Business Awards Employer of the Year category means a great deal to us because it demonstrates that we know how to be an employer of choice ourselves. Having been Test Valley Business Award winners in 2018, we’re really looking forward to the Gala Dinner, especially the chance to meet other finalists and, hopefully, win again!

And finally, Sarah Durrans, regional director (Hampshire & Wiltshire) for Aster Group UK,
said of being shortlisted:

We’re thrilled to be a finalist for the Employer of the Year award.

Our colleagues are our biggest asset and are crucial in helping us to achieve our vision of
‘Everyone has a home’. That’s why it’s so important to us that they love working at Aster and
are proud of what we do.

From reviewing our colleague offer, having a flexible approach to work, and supporting
mental and physical well-being, we’ll continue to experiment and try new things to offer great
experiences for our colleagues.

We’re looking forward to the awards ceremony and would like to wish all the other finalists
the best of luck.

Tickets for the Gala Dinner & Awards Ceremony on 12th September are available to book via the Awards website or by visiting Event Brite, and cost just £60 to include welcome drink & 3 course meal.

The Gala Dinner & Awards Ceremony is made possible by the Awards’ generous sponsors,
including Special Sponsors Barratt Homes.

Now in its 15th year, the Test Valley Business Awards – run by a steering group of volunteers – has become a well-established platform to champion business excellence. It is a great way of shining a light particularly on the many new and small businesses in the region, all doing interesting and valuable work, but often out of sight.
