Make a difference by fostering in 2021- Could you help care for vulnerable young people in Romsey this year?

logo.BlueSky2020 has been a tough year for many people due to the coronavirus pandemic, but more so for vulnerable young people in Romsey. Blue Sky Fostering are looking for people from all walks of life to start making a difference and change the lives of the growing number of young people in care, by becoming a Foster Carer in 2021. The most recent figures show that young people in care has risen 28% over the last decade.

With the reduction in fostering families coming forward and more children coming into care this year, the agency highlights:

Fostering services have not stopped at all during the pandemic, with 24/7 support for our carers and young people, and the recruitment of Foster Carers our top priority. It does not matter what your religion, relationship status or age is. All that is required is that you have a spare bedroom and the willingness to make a difference.

Blue Sky Foster Carers Nick & Helen, have this message for other potential Foster Carers:

We enjoy being Foster Carers because we feel satisfied that we are offering children and young people a safe and secure place to live.

Foster Carer Karen added:

There’s been a lot of happiness, I would say it has actually changed our lives because we’ve learnt so much more about the need, and why fostering is important and we’re glad to be a part of that.

Children and young people need a place to feel loved, supported and safe from harm. To enable you to successfully foster, the agency offers full training, 24/7 support, competitive allowances and the ability to meet people with similar interests and make new friends by becoming part of a local fostering family.

If you are looking to make a difference to young people in care this year, then contact Blue Sky Fostering and find out how you can start your fostering journey. Call their number on 0800 035 6499 or visit their website at for an informal chat and more information.
