Keeping Hampshire’s communities connected – over £450,000 for arts, recreation and heritage activities

Over £450,000 will be going to a wide range of music, art and theatre events across Hampshire to benefit residents of all ages, thanks to grants agreed by Hampshire County Council’s Executive Member for Recreation and Heritage, Councillor Seán Woodward.

The latest round of grants was announced at Councillor Woodward’s Decision Day on 14 January 2019, with allocations of £416,000 from the Recreation and Heritage Investment Fund and £37,000 from the Community Investment Fund.

Councillor Woodward said:

Fantastic work goes on every day in Hampshire’s communities thanks to the efforts of those within them. These grants along with support from local district and parish council funding have a proven track record of helping a diverse mix of local organisations continue this work on popular, much loved recreational and learning activities for residents especially those at risk of isolation.
