Hattie Third in HART Prize for Human Rights

Congratulations to Year 9 Leehurst Swan pupil Hattie who placed third in the junior creative category at the HART Prize for Human Rights!  For her Geography homework, Hattie conducted independent research and produced a written creative piece entitled Girl, Wife, Mother to promote awareness about child marriage and period poverty in South Sudan.

Hattie travelled to London last Monday night having been short-listed for the HART Prize for Human Rights which is a competition for young people who are interested in global issues.  Upon arrival, Hattie met Baroness Cox who went on to make a presentation before the prize winners were announced.

Hattie placed an incredible third and was presented with a signed copy of Baroness Caroline Cox’s book This Immoral Trade.
