Footloose – Kick Off Your Sunday Shoes and Cut Loose!

AMTC Starlights Youth Theatre are excited to announce that their summer show at The Lights Andover will be the high-energy production Footloose The Musical!

All young actors and dancers aged 11-18 are invited to get involved by coming along to a free workshop at The Lights on Saturday 25th April when Director Carol Robinson and Musical Director Colin Gray will first introduce the show, answer questions about auditions and the production and then teach the music and some moves to the iconic title number Footloose.

Footloose The Musical is based on the hugely popular 1984 film starring Kevin Bacon, featuring other classic hits including Holding Out For a Hero, Let’s Hear It For The Boy and Almost Paradise. Teenager Ren moves from Chicago with his mother to start a new life in the small farming town of Bomont. He is shocked to find rural life is even quieter than expected as rock music and dancing have been banned under the instruction of the local Reverend. Ren joins forces with the Reverend’s rebellious daughter Ariel and country boy Willard determined to bring back dancing to the town.

Registration for the workshop on 25th April is by email requesting further details to Auditions will be held on Sunday 3rd May, rehearsals will take place on Saturday mornings from 9th May and Footloose The Musical will be at The Lights 30th July until 1st August.

AMTC Starlights Youth Theatre is the youth section of charity registered Andover Musical Theatre Company so any profits are always used to finance future productions.
