About Wessex Cancer Trust

Every year around 23,000 people within the Wessex region (Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire, IOW, Channel Islands) are diagnosed with cancer. A diagnosis can be a shock and have a huge impact on an entire family. That’s why we’re committed to providing free support for anyone affected by cancer.

Our cancer support centres are safe places for people to receive the emotional, practical and physical support they need. On arrival clients are welcomed by our amazing volunteer befrienders who are equipped to provide information, support and a listening ear. A team of specialist counsellors are on hand to help deal with the emotional impact of cancer, and complementary therapies aim to improve well-being, help with pain management and increase self-confidence.

We provide health and well-being information, exercise programmes and courses to help people live well with their cancer diagnosis. From coffee mornings to craft groups and mindfulness classes, people come together to meet people who understand what they are going through. We’re proud that our centres are a safe community for anyone affected by cancer.
