Leading disability charity Enham Trust’s volunteer Sarah Kirby has been ‘Highly Commended’ in ‘The Teacher of the Year’ award, during the Pride of Andover Awards 2016.
Sponsored by Stannah, the award recognises a truly inspirational teacher in primary, secondary or further education that, through their commitment to supporting the educational needs of young people has enabled individuals or groups to exceed their potential.
Sarah, who has been volunteering at Enham Trust since March 2016, supported Enham Trust employee Darren Jones to successfully complete his NVQ in Hospitality and Catering principles [kitchen fundamentals]
Sarah commented after the event:
I am delighted and proud to receive this award. In all my years of teaching in schools I didn’t receive an award, and now I have! I want to continue to help Enham Trust to support people to achieve beyond their own expectations.
Enham Trust currently supports over 7,500 disabled people in the cornerstone areas of their lives; providing housing, care, and employment & skills to ensure their clients live lives of choice, control, and independence.
