Dogs have a new place to play

Dogs in Andover have a fun new play centre to enjoy thanks to a unique business venture.

Coco’s Canine Crèche is a brand new doggy day care facility that offers busy pet owners peace of mind that their four legged friends are well looked after in a safe play centre. The crèche has large play areas, complete with a range of toys and equipment, where the dogs can run around freely and play with other dogs. Owner of the centre, Paula Staff, also hosts training sessions, puppy parties and other related activities.

Penton Bellinger ward member, Councillor Phil Lashbrook, presented Paula and Operations Manager, Gillian Jones with Test Valley Borough Council’s £750 Business Incentive Grant. He said:

This is a brilliant business that is already thriving despite only opening a few months ago. Paula and Gillian have developed a strong business model which, along with their passion and enthusiasm for dogs, is proving incredibly successful.

Paula and Gillian have been working closely with the Council’s Animal Welfare Officer, Rod Mason, to ensure that the highest standards are met at all times.

Paula said:

I’d like to thank Test Valley Borough Council for the grant and for the advice and support we’ve received from Rod about creating the right environment and conditions for all the dogs who visit the crèche – we couldn’t have done it without him! It’s been a manic few months but we are thoroughly enjoying this new venture. We hope to deliver more wonderful things for our canine community over the coming months. Our Training Hub is now taking shape and we have many exciting things ahead.

You can contact Paula or Gillian at Coco’s via the website, www.cocoscaninecreche.co.uk or by telephoning 01264 773331 to find out more.

The Council’s Business Incentive Grants are available to anyone looking to set up their own business in Test Valley. Anyone who successfully applies for the grant will receive a grant of £750 if their business is still going strong six months later.
