Comedian Ardal O’Hanlon is sure to put a smile on every theatre goer’s face this Valentine’s, when he heads to Theatre Royal Winchester on Friday 14 February.
Where Ardal comes from there is nothing worse than showing off. Yet he is a professional ‘show off’ and so feels, in an age of identity politics, the end of truth, peak avocado, and #metoo, he is forced to ride fearlessly in to the culture wars, with comedy being the best emergency response mechanism to extreme events such as these, and continue to tour his stand-up show The Showing Off Must Go On.
Best known for playing Father Dougal Maguire in Channel 4’s BAFTA winning series, Father Ted, and starring in TV’s Death in Paradise and My Hero, as well as being a multi award-nominee, Ardal has also toured internationally, selling out venues globally; while his debut novel, The Talk of the Town remained on the bestsellers’ chart for more than six months.
Ardal’s show, The Showing Off Must Go On, will be at Theatre Royal Winchester on Friday 14 February, at 7.30pm. Find out more, or book tickets, at theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk or call the Box Office on 01962 840 440.
