Winchester-based charity, The Brendoncare Foundation, is pleased to announce that Francesca Dekker, Head of Quality and Compliance, has been nominated as a finalist for the ‘Outstanding Contribution to Social Care’ Award within the Great British Care Awards.
The Great British Care Awards are a series of regional events throughout the UK, celebrating excellence in the care sector. The awards pay tribute to individuals and teams who are recognised as outstanding within their field of work.
Winners of the Great British Care Awards will be presented with their awards at a Gala dinner on 9th November at the Hilton Hotel in Brighton.
Francesca has been recognised for her long-term outstanding contribution to social care. She has been a nurse for 39 years and worked in the NHS for 25 years before moving to Brendoncare in 2006. Shortly after joining Brendoncare, she was promoted to Head of Practice and Staff Development where her role focused on training nurses and carers. Francesca Dekker, commented:
I have been a Registered Nurse for 39 years and worked in both the NHS and the social care sector. My career in social care has been particularly rewarding as I genuinely believe supporting people in their home life enables the art and science of caring to be truly realised in a holistic and compassionate way.
Carole Sawyers, Brendoncare’s Chief Executive, said:
We are delighted that Francesca has been shortlisted for this award. She is truly deserving of this nomination; her dedication and contribution to the section and Bendoncare over many years has been outstanding.
In her spare times, Francesca enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing the guitar, reading and walking.
