The gardens range from a small courtyard one to ones that overlook open countryside, from ones attached to medieval houses to ones in a recently built development. Each garden is unique.
Of the 12 gardens we have 4 which are opening for the first time and 1 which has not opened for four years. The remaining 7 gardens will no doubt have changed during the last two years. Some gardens will also have plants for sale.
We publish a Garden Guide containing information about each of the gardens: a short passage and a photograph. A map shows where each of the gardens is within Bishop’s Waltham and we have included footpaths, so that people can use shortcuts. Car parks are shown and some gardens do have parking for those with limited mobility.
There will be refreshments at 4 different gardens, ranging from ice creams to soft drinks to tea & coffee and cakes. Why not make plans to spend the whole day in Bishop’s Waltham on Sunday 30th June from 11am – 5pm?
Admittance to the gardens is by Garden Guide, price £5 per person. The guides will be on sale at Hazel’s florist in the High Street during June and on the day in Red Lion Street (next to Costa). Guides will also be on sale at each of the open gardens.
