Christmas sounds will be all around this festive period
Andover & North Hampshire Gazette Community Magazine has teamed up with Andover Radio to create a unique radio station which only plays Christmas songs.
A number of local shops have already signed-up to play the service in their store and it is hoped that broadcasts will also be heard in the Chantry Centre and on loudspeakers in the High Street.
The station will also be available to anyone with an internet connection and will play over 300 popular Christmas tracks non-stop, interrupted only by festive good wishes recorded by local businesses and a few other celebrity festive contributors.
The real Santa Claus – live from the North Pole – has already agreed to go on-the-air to let listeners know about events and attractions around the town.
Andover Radio is the new local radio station for the town, operating under the ‘Love Andover’ brand they are working in partnership with Enham Trust and the Andover Gazette to promote the good work of local charities and the benefits of local shopping.
David Harber, founder of Andover Radio says:
This is a unique service which in tandem with the Andover Gazette will offer local businesses a fun, engaging way to work cohesively to encourage local purchases.
Listeners will be able to request songs and send messages to Santa via the loveandover.com website.
The Christmas radio service will be available from late November on various local websites including www.mlggazettes.co.uk
Local businesses who wish to take part are encouraged to make contact via the Andover & North Hampshire Gazette Community Magazine or at www.loveandover.com
