Test valley anti-litter campaigner, Manuela Wahnon – completed the task she set herself, of picking up litter, in 100 Waitrose bags, from over thirty locations, throughout the borough of Test Valley in ten days. In doing so, Manuela has raised nearly £1200 in order to support the Mayor of Test Valley’s chosen charities Enham Trust, Andover VIP’s, Romsey Young Carers and Test Valley Community Services.
Manuela said:
I could never have completed this task without the generosity shown to me in the time allocated, had it not been for the generosity and invaluable help from The Environmental Services, Waitrose, The White Horse Hotel Romsey, Inspector Markham, Stage Coach Bus drivers, Liz Garvey and Cllr John Parker Mayor of Romsey. Their assistance helped me to complete the task and raise in doing so, close to £1200.
Mayor of Test Valley, Cllr Karen Hamilton:
On behalf of all my charities I cannot thank Manuela enough for all the hard work of clearing litter from across the Borough and fundraising choosing to do a sponsored event of 100 bags in just 10 days. An incredible feat, I am so proud of her, well done.
