Award-winning Luxury Cat Hotel opens in Romsey

The latest addition to the Longcroft Luxury Cat Hotel Group is Longcroft Romsey, which will be the 23rd hotel to open under the successful Longcroft brand. Longcroft Romsey is owned and run by animal lovers Georgie Taylor-Darke and Chris Darke, and is located in the
peaceful setting of New Barn Farm, Georgie’s childhood home. The luxury cat hotel, rated ‘5 star’ by Test Valley council and customers alike, opened its doors mid August 2020. And the business is already off to a flying start, despite the challenging circumstances of the current Covid 19 pandemic.

On Sunday 20thth September, Longcroft Romsey will be officially opened by local MP Caroline Nokes. Georgie and Chris will welcome local residents, customers and friends to the Grand Opening of their brand new state-of-the-art hotel. Because of the current pandemic, guests will be able to visit by appointment on this day, between 10am and 4pm, for a chance to enjoy some Longcroft hospitality: sampling Longcroft cupcakes, Prosecco and the opportunity to take a peek at the gorgeous new hotel and it’s stunning setting. The first 50 guests will each receive a Longcroft goody bag.

Longcroft Romsey offers five-star accommodation for feline guests while their owners are on holiday. It includes seven luxury suites, each built to the same exacting standards as those of all Longcroft’s hotels. Every suite has its own climate-controlled bedroom, leading to a private, safe, garden play area, complete with multi-storey viewing platforms for feline guests to play or relax. The unique and tranquil location of Longcroft Romsey at beautiful 10-acre.

New Barn Farm, affords feline guests views over a natural meadow and surrounding farmland. The farm is located close to the historic market town of Romsey, Hampshire, and is conveniently near to Southampton, Winchester and Salisbury. Accessed via a quiet country lane and with a peaceful backdrop of birdsong, it’s hard to imagine a more purrrfect location for a kitty pampering break! The Longcroft ethos focuses on animal welfare, treating every guest as if they were Georgie and Chris’s own beloved pets. Georgie and Chris’s story began when they met in South Africa, where Chris was working as a small animal vet and Georgie worked in corporate marketing and customer service before running her own swim school franchise. The couple moved back to the UK together and brought with them their two beloved Burmese cats, Vida and Tito.

Georgie began looking for a way to combine the couple’s love of animals and passion for animal welfare, with the ability to work from home in the beautiful Hampshire countryside.  While searching one day for somewhere for their cats Vida and Tito to stay when they went away, Georgie and Chris discovered Longcroft. It not only seemed like the ideal holiday accommodation for the couple’s furry friends, but also sparked the idea of running their very own luxury cat hotel. It is an ideal accompaniment to Chris’ continuing role as a locum vet.

and expert approach to cat boarding, placing animal welfare at its heart. Longcroft offers peace of mind to all cat owners when they go away, by providing an expert, tailored, homefrom-home experience for its feline guests.
