Businesses around Andover have been helping the club raise funds for the Countess Brecknock Hospice extension currently being built next to the hospital in Charlton Road.
The Anton Rotary Club had placed chocolate eggs and a raffle board in 30 pubs, clubs and companies in the local area.
Each board had 100 squares to be sold at £1 each. The winner in each case received a handmade Belgian chocolate egg produced by Amellie Chocolat in Barnstable. The eggs weighed in at 1.3 Kgms.
The success of this novel fundraiser allowed the club to prepare a cheque for £2000 for presentation to the hospice.
The Countess of Brecknock Hospice is the club’s major project in 2019, other fundraising opportunities planned include a Car show and Duck Race in May, a Metal Detecting Weekend and a Variety Show in St Mary’s Church in October.
