Children and families, who are receiving support from Friends of the Family’s 5s to 13s Befriending Service, attended a magical Christmas party in December at the Salvation Army Hall in Winchester. Over 25 children, accompanied by their families and volunteers, were treated to a magic show performed by the Amazing Alvan and took part in dancing competitions to win prizes.
After the show, the children enjoyed a fantastic spread of party food provided by the Salvation Army and each received a Christmas present which had been purchased by the congregation.
The party was organised by Sam Hunt, 5s to 13s Befriending Manager, who said:
It was wonderful to see the children having so much fun and a great end to the year. I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone at the Salvation Army. Their generosity and hard work made it a truly memorable event for all of the children and their families.
