As 2018 draws to a close, we look back at what made this year’s Pride of Andover Awards special…
The beginning of a New Year looms, now is the ideal time to look back on everything that made this year a truly exceptional period in the Pride of Andover Awards’ history.
A lively and well-attended launch event: beginning at the premises of the awards’ Main Sponsor – David Mellor Family Jewellers – in Andover town centre, and later moving across to The Lights, this year’s launch event saw sponsors and committee members gather together to celebrate the start of the 2018 nomination period over light refreshments and networking.
9 categories to choose from: this year saw 9 award categories sponsored by 9 impassioned local businesses, celebrating a variety of community achievements; from Fundraiser of the Year and Young Person of the Year, to Community Champion and the Inspiring Others Award.
BBC star hosts awards ceremony: popular BBC South Today journalist and presenter, Sally Taylor, joined this year’s awards ceremony for the first time as host of the evening; helping us all get to know the night’s inspiring winners and highly commended individuals.
Generous gift for Andover hospice: guests attending this year’s widely-anticipated awards ceremony generously donated £469 to The Countess of Brecknock Hospice – helping the much-needed Andover-based facility to provide specialist care for people with life-limiting illness in and around the area.
Yes, 2018 has been a phenomenal year in the Pride of Andover Awards’ history; leaving us anticipating the endless possibilities of the 2019 Awards programme.
Such a success was this year, that already the Awards has seen the following sponsors generously commit to supporting next year’s programme:
