Four well-known soloists are set to perform with The Woodside Singers at Romsey Abbey, Hampshire on Saturday 25 March.
Gemma Morsley (mezzo-soprano), Olivia Boot (soprano), Rhys Bowden (tenor) and Lancelot Nomura (bass baritone) are joining a 40-member choir to perform Mozart’s ‘Requiem’ and Haydn’s ‘Little Organ Mass’, using their collective experience from national and international musical careers.
Acclaimed pianist and organist Paul Searle-Barnes is accompanying the performances. He has performed frequently with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and other British orchestras, and has played on TV and radio.
The Woodside Singers have been performing a variety of music for over 35 years in the Waterside and New Forest areas of Hampshire. They are excited to be able to present these two magnificent works alongside the soloists in the Abbey, with their director, Catherine Gosney, who will have been at the helm for just two years, and having recently completed her music degree at the University of Southampton, specialising in conducting and piano accompaniment.
Tickets are available from www.ticketsource.co.uk/musicinromsey or the Romsey Tourist Information Centre on 01794 512987.
