Every Christmas staff at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust pull out all the stops to decorate their wards and departments. This year staff at our Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester, did not disappoint. Freshfield ward got all the staff and patients involved in creating Santas from around the world; Wainwright ward created the scenes from the 12 days of Christmas; Kemp Welch decided on a Frozen theme, and many other wards and departments got involved too.
Chairman Elizabeth Padmore judges the friendly competition. She said;
Walking round the hospitals at this time of year to wish all our staff happy Christmas and to judge the Christmas decorations competition is something that I look forward to. Every year I am amazed by the creativity on display across the wards and departments. We have so many talented people. This year was no different and I was especially impressed by how whole teams have come together to decorate their areas. Listening to the stories of why staff go to so much trouble, often in their personal time after a long shift, and how often they have involved our patients is heart-warming and yet another example of the outstanding care we provide. I would like to thank everyone for taking part and bringing some festive joy to our hospitals. It is very much enjoyed by our patients, visitors and staff.
