Weyhill Electronic Organ Society ….. another musical milestone

WEOS logo
Despite initial doubts regarding the viability of such a venture, the Society has established a fine reputation and on 15th November 2018 reaches a ‘milestone’ by staging its 200th concert! The event will feature international concert and recording artiste, Nicholas Martin, BEM – the very same player who performed for the Club’s inaugural concert in July 2002 and for the 100th concert in August 2010.

From a tentative beginning, the Society has made steady progress over the years and, thanks to the efforts of a hard-working team and numerous loyal supporters, it has retained its popularity and is firmly integrated into the local community. The Club is a non-profit organisation which, since inception, has already helped to raise in excess of £12,000 for a variety of worthy charities.Furthermore, it was nominated for the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in 2017.

Anyone who enjoys melodic, easy listening, live music cannot help but derive considerable pleasure from the sounds of the modern electronic keyboards. The monthly concerts, staged at the Fairground Hall in Weyhill, are performed by visiting professional artistes, all extremely talented, utilising a variety of electronic organs/keyboards – and first class entertainment within a friendly and relaxed environment is always assured. The styles of music presented by the guest players are wide-ranging and the programmes are always balanced to suit most musical tastes. Furthermore, provision of video projection equipment ensures that every member of the audience has an excellent view of the keyboard and pedal skills on display.

Anyone interested in obtaining further information about the Society is invited to telephone 01264 323213 or visit the Society’s website at www.weyhill-eos.co.uk
