Unum volunteers ‘insure’ Enham Trust event is huge success

A group of 14 volunteers from Unum – one of the UK’s leading financial protection insurers – have recently taken a day away from the office to volunteer for leading Hampshire-based disability charity Enham Trust.

The group, from Basingstoke, visited the charity’s home estate in Enham Alamein, to work alongside the Trust’s Garden Services team and Test Valley Borough Council’s Environmental Services team, to clear the new Enham Way in time for the launch event on 18th July.

Tasked with cutting back the foliage along the Way, the team helped to ensure the 3.4 mile-long accessible path between Andover town centre and Enham Alamein was in top condition, making a vital contribution to the overall cause; giving Enham Trust’s disabled clients the ability and confidence to travel between the village and the town centre independently.

A big thank you to the team commented Enham Trust’s Volunteer Team Leader Ryan Pooles.

Not just for the recent support they’ve given us, but for their constant commitment to the charity. We would have not been ready for the official opening of the Enham Way, if not for these amazing volunteers.”

The opening of the Enham Way reflects the charity’s vital work; supporting over 7,500 disabled and disadvantaged people across the country to live as independently as possible.
