The Mayor of Test Valley Visits The Junction

Alabaré were delighted to be hosting The Mayor of Test Valley, Councillor Iris Andersen at The Junction at 3:00pm Friday, 7th August.

The Junction is an information, advice, training and guidance Centre for young people, aged between 13 and 25, at 45 Junction Road, Andover.

The Mayor met two Trustees from Alabaré, Mr. Phil Davies and Mrs. Christine Robinson both are heavily involved in the provision of support for young people in the area. A guided tour of all the facilities was conducted by The Staff Team at The Junction.

Vanessa Bedford, Care and Support Manager for young people at Alabaré says;

We welcome VIP visits to The Junction with open arms, it is vital for us to show the good work that takes place here in Andover. Our Young People feel part of the town and realise the importance of contributing positively to the local community’.

Refreshments were made and served by the young people who are being supported by Alabaré at The Junction. Catering is one of many life skills that are taught and encouraged at the Centre. Users can take part in many different activities, workshops and one-to-one sessions including art and music awards. Advice is also available on health, housing, employment and relationships.
