Test Valley Borough Council receives government Inspector’s final Revised Local Plan report

Test Valley Borough Council last week received the final Revised Local Plan (RLP) report from the government Inspector who was responsible for scrutinising it. The Inspector has found the RLP “sound”, subject to the inclusion of a number of modifications which the council had previously agreed in April 2015.

It is intended that the RLP will be reported to cabinet on 13 January and full council on 27 January 2016. The authority will then withdraw the current Borough Local Plan (2006) and adopt the Revised Local Plan at the same council meeting.

Planning policy and transport portfolio holder, Councillor Martin Hatley said;

I am absolutely delighted that the Inspector has found the Revised Local Plan sound. It is thanks to the hard work of officers and councillors that we are now in this position. As I have said before, the Revised Local Plan will be a powerful weapon in protecting the borough from inappropriate development and I look forward to presenting it to cabinet and council in January.
