Anna Valley and Upper Clatford Parish is looking clean, fresh and tidy thanks to a Test Valley Borough Council Sparkle Day on Thursday, 26 November.
The Council’s Sparkle Day team swept leaves, cut back shrubs, removed fly-tipped waste and cleaned road signs. The team also provided waste and recycling information to more than 500 homes in the parish. An impressive 13 tonnes of leaves and debris were removed through a combination of mechanical and hand sweeping, and a further two tonnes of hedge cuttings were collected.
Environmental Portfolio Holder, Councillor Graham Stallard, helped out on the day and said;
I would like to thank Anna ward member, Councillor Maureen Flood, and the other volunteers for their help. It was great to have the involvement of residents, in particular the Clerk to the Parish Council, Charles Emmett. The team worked incredibly hard and I thank them for all their work. The parish looks splendid.
The next Sparkle Day will take place in the Saxon Way area of Romsey on Tuesday, 26 January 2016. For more information, visit www.testvalley.gov.uk/love
