Sizzling summertime market Sunday, 19 July

Sizzling summertime market Sunday, 19 July will see a sizzling summertime Andover Farmers’ and Crafts Market in the High Street from 10am until 2pm.

Traders will be in attendance with succulent meat, vibrant vegetables and fabulous fruit and salads just waiting to jump from stall to basket to barbecue!

The High Street will have a party atmosphere on Sunday, with bunting fluttering in the breeze and music in the Time Ring from 10.15am with a fabulous jazz set from Jayne Deer and then local duo Morrisson playing blues/folk from 12.30pm.

All this will be set against the dazzle of colours, scents and tastes from a myriad of tempting food and drink; jostling alongside artisan goods and crafts of all descriptions. As well as ingredients for a barbecue, why not pick up the makings of a perfect picnic and then party the afternoon away at Vigo Recreation Ground with the party in the park set to last until 9pm, and the Andover Carnival procession commencing at 4pm.

Make a whole day out of it with the family and help support local traders and businesses. Leader of the Council, Councillor Ian Carr said;

The Andover Farmers’ and Crafts markets always draw a good crowd in the town and have become an essential part of the character of the High Street, but the summertime markets have to be the most enjoyable, particularly as it is Carnival day. Take an hour or two to wander in the sunshine, taste what’s on offer, buy some delicious goodies or gifts, listen to the music and relax with a coffee. It’s not just shopping, it’s an experience.

Stalls will include fresh fish and seafood from Selsey Willows, delicious homemade bread from The Flour Stall, flower and vegetable plants from Sue Peecock, HJ Plank and Paddock Plants.

On the craft side visit Andover Photography to see how you could improve your skills, be tempted by unique gifts from Kirsty Colbourne or Handmade by Mollie and Me, or find out more about local charity The Boaz Project. The Andover Farmers’ and Crafts markets are held on the third Sunday of each month throughout the year.
