Rural events in Hampshire this summer and autumn

CPRE
A charity that stands up for the Hampshire countryside has organised a range of rural-inspired social and educational events this summer and autumn. CPRE Hampshire (the Campaign to Protect Rural England) events are open to all and include:

 

  • Guided tour of the Hospital of St Cross, Winchester – 11 July
  • Garden visit to Hill House, Old Alresford – 25July
  • Neighbourhood Planning Conference, Sparsholt College, near Winchester – 5 October; looking at the best planning options for local communities
  • Autumn supper and talk, Preston Candover Village Hall, near Basingstoke – 20 October; Guest speaker Rosamund Wallinger will talk about the evolution of gardens in this country and about Gertrude Jekyll in particular
  • Quiz nights to support Green Belt for South Hampshire campaign and the work of CPRE Hampshire, Itchen Abbas and Avington Village Hall, near Winchester – 27 October and East Meon Village Hall – 17 November

 

CPRE Hampshire’s roadshow programme is visiting Hampshire Farmers’ Markets around the county. Enter the free prize draw to be in with a chance to win a hamper. Coming up: Ringwood – 24 June, Winchester – 13 August and Romsey – 3 September.

 

Entries for the charity’s Countryside Awards close on 30 June with the winners announced at the awards ceremony in September.
