Romsey Aqua Zumba

Romsey people make a splash with free Aqua Zumba taster

Almost 50 people from Romsey and the surrounding areas made a splash when they tried out a new Aqua Zumba® class at Romsey Rapids Sports Complex.

The new water-based exercise class, which was led by Zumba® education specialist, Caroline Parsons, is aimed at reintroducing older and less active people to regular exercise.

People let loose and danced to Latin inspired music throughout the class and the swimming pool was even dyed a cool purple for the event to add to the party atmosphere.

Obdulia Mcgeoghan
, who took part in the Test Valley classes, said:

It was brilliant! The instructor was very good. I’m a regular swimmer and would definitely come again.

Joy Piper, who also took to the water, said:

It was fantastic. I have done aqua classes before so sort of knew what it would be like, but it
was really excellent.

The 45-minute taster session marked the start of the third and final phase of the Move More with Zumba® Fitness programme, which is funded by Sport England, Sporta, Zumba® Fitness LLC, and Sport Hampshire Isle of Wight and delivered in the Test Valley by Valley Leisure.

Valley Leisure run four Test Valley owned sports and leisure outlets in the region including Romsey Rapids Sports Complex and Knightwood Leisure Centre in Chandlers Ford.

Over the past six months, a total of 330 people from across Test Valley have taken part in the programme which aims to engage, enthuse and excite people into more physical activity.
