It’s ‘plane’ to see that International Furniture’s poppy window display has hit new heights!

Remembrance Sunday is soon approaching, so that means Kevin Farrer owner of International Furniture and his colleagues have recently been working incredibly hard to create their annual window display to mark Remembrance Day.

Located at the branch in Black Swan Yard, Andover, the large window is decorated to commemorate the fallen soldiers, veterans, those who are serving in the Armed Forces and their families. poppyimage Kevin shows his support of the British Legion’s Poppy appeal in this amazing way every year using items to ensure the display is both respectful and poignant, which is why it has become so popular with local people.

Not only that, but it’s incredible to look at and this year you are immediately drawn to the large plane which is centrally placed within the window display. This handmade plane is the newest model to join his collection, it has a 10 foot wing span and it’s one of a kind! Kevin and the International Furniture staff used an impressive 5,827 poppies and 240 lights to resemble stars, which were all meticulously and artistically placed to create this wonderful act of remembrance taking 79 hours to complete.

Kevin Farrer owner of International Furniture said:

Thank you to the staff for their help and input to create the display. Together we created this unique window display for everyone to enjoy and I hope everybody does.

If we’re honest our pictures don’t do justice and it is clearly not the same as seeing it for yourself.  Please do pop into town to take a look …………….
