Across Hampshire’s libraries, country parks, outdoor centres and gardens there is a great variety of events for the whole family to enjoy this half term. Here are a few to put in your diary!
Over the next fortnight, Sir Harold Hillier Gardens has many different events planned including a spring and early summer floral display, family bushcraft, pond dipping and a classical concert. For further details, visit the Hilliers What’s on pages.
Lepe Country Park is inviting you to Lepe into Action on Wednesday, 1 June. Lepe into Action is free and open to all and includes accessible activities for children and young people with disabilities. Have a go at cycling, archery, cricket, boules, orienteering and more. No need to book, just turn up anytime between 10am – 4pm.
For photography fans, Royal Victoria Country Park is offering you the chance to complete a daily photography trail from 28 May to 5 June. Use your map to find where each photo was taken. Then work out the answers to the quiz to win a prize. Visit the RVCP website for booking details.
Manor Farm Country Park has several fun, mice-related activities based on Aesop’s Fable ‘The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse‘. Children will have a perfect day out trying the trail to help the mice find their cheese and making mouse finger puppets in the farmhouse.
Walk on the wild side at Queen Elizabeth Country Park by taking part in a minibeast safari, reptile themed activities as well as creating your own insect homes.
Meanwhile at Staunton Country Park there will be a bug bonanza with creepy crawlies galore and lots of crafts to do from 10.30am to 3.30pm from 28 May to 5 June. More details can be found on the webpage.
