Andover Neighbourcare is celebrating the launch of its new minibus, thanks to a £30,000 donation from everyday health plan provider Simplyhealth.
As the previous minibus was no longer fit for purpose, the donation from Simplyhealth has enabled Andover Neighbourcare to replace its minibus for members and purchase their own very own new one adapted for wheelchairs, making it accessible for all to use.
Used frequently throughout the week, the minibus will be used for day trips for members, day trips for local nursing homes and also hired by local groups for the elderly within the community.
Pam Delderfield, manager for Andover Neighbourcare said:
We are absolutely over the moon to have received this fantastic gift. Not only have Simplyhealth helped to fund our new minibus, but Debbie Clarke and Paul Jeans from Simplyhealth were also vital to help us source and secure the minibus which is invaluable to our members. We are truly grateful for their continued support.
Roger Cotton, Head of Corporate Giving at Simplyhealth said:
It’s clear that the minibus will be a lifeline forAndover Neighbourcare’s members, ensuring that those who are elderly, disabled or do not have access can get out and about in the community. Andover Neighbourcare provides many activities and services for people in the local area so to be able to provide them with this minibus to help people stay independent is wonderful. We look forward to see it darting around Andover and surrounding villages over the coming years.
Andover Neighbourcare provides a host of services for its 600 members ranging from transport, gardening and transport services for numerous clubs and organisations in the local community.
