New responsive website for Test Valley Borough Council

There is an exciting new look to Test Valley Borough Council’s website.

A responsive website has been created that automatically reformats for mobile phones and tablets, and it has also been re-designed so that it is more engaging and easily accessible.

We want people to make enquiries and request services online wherever possible, so the internet payments and payment portal sites are also being updated. This means that the look and feel of how people make payments has changed, so it is important that people are aware of this.

There will be information about how to make these payments and reassurance on the site’s security via the new PAY button.

Visitors to the site will notice a changed home page that directs them to the most visited areas of the website through 12 “buttons”. Each button then gives a drop down menu of choices to ensure that visitors get the information they require as quickly and easily as possible.

If visitors want to do a search, then the A to Z of Council Services can be found at the foot of the home page above the contact details for the Council offices in both Andover and Romsey.

The redesigned look, in the distinctive blue branding of the Council, includes better quality images and refined text, whilst  news items and information about council events and forthcoming attractions at the Lights remain as prominent items on the home page.

Corporate Portfolio Holder, Councillor Maureen Flood said:

In light of the increasing prominence and traffic being directed to and through our website, we wanted to ensure that our web pages enabled customers to make enquiries and request services online wherever possible – and to do this in a way that was both engaging and easily accessible. It complements the My Test Valley App where residents and businesses can report such things as missed bins, fly tipping and overgrown areas,  and the ability to attach information including photos and videos.

We welcome feedback from people about the website to help us improve our services.
