Naomi House & Jackplaces Santa Fun Run

Naomi House and Jacksplace Southampton Santa Fun Run takes a new route through The Common

The Southampton Santa Fun Run has previously taken place through the streets of city, but this year the charity are pleased to announce that the run will take place through The Common.

This event always attracts hundreds of Santas and this year is set to be no different. The Southampton Santa Fun Run, which takes place on 25th November 2018, is already selling fast, so anyone who would like to secure their place is urged to as soon as possible.

The event is organised by Naomi House & Jacksplace, the Winchester-based hospices for children and young adults with life limiting and life threatening illnesses.

Speaking about the success of the Santa Fun Run in previous years, Naomi House & Jacksplace’s spokesman, Keith Wilson, said:

The Southampton Santa Fun Run, now in its 3rd year, has become a key event in the Southampton Christmas social calendar, and we have always been so pleased and grateful of the response from supporters. We are so appreciative to everyone who has signed up already, lots of whom have joined us for this event from its first year, and committed to support seriously ill children and young adults on good days, difficult days and last days.

Staff at the hospices expect the event to sell out long before Christmas and raise more than £30,000: enough to fund care and support for local families on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

The 5km fun run takes a fun-filled route through The Common from 9.30am, ending with a victorious finish line.

Remaining tickets are priced at £15 for adults and £10 for children until the 2nd October, when prices will rise by £5 for both adults and children from the 3rd October. The entry fee covers the cost of your place, a Santa suit to wear, and a medal. So the charity ask each participant to aim to raise £50 to help support Naomi House & Jacksplace.

Naomi House & Jacksplace hospices care for hundreds of life-limited and life-threatened children and young adults from across southern England. The charity offers respite, emergency, end of life and bereavement support at its state of the art hospices, near Winchester.
