Leading disability charity Enham Trust needs YOU to join them as they combat energy poverty for disabled people in Hampshire.
Currently developing plans for an onsite Energy Centre, which will see the charity become almost entirely energy self-sufficient, Enham Trust is asking for the support of the community to secure £12,500 of vital funding from the M&S Energy Community Energy Fund.
As part of their ambitious plans to build a state of the art Neurological Rehabilitation Unit and array of accessible homes on their historical Cedar Park development, the Trust plans to build an innovative Energy Centre; providing energy to an incredible 202 homes, respite care & rehabilitation apartments, and offices for 200 people, as well as a Health & Wellbeing Centre and many other services.
Enham Trust’s Director of Property, Victoria Leesam, comments:
For Enham Trust, this is the logical choice, largely due to the specific needs of the Enham Trust community which require continuous, economic heat, light and power.
Households with a disabled individual are routinely 25% poorer than non-disabled households; due to lack of mobility, households with a disabled individual also require more heating and lighting, placing further pressure on already squeezed personal domestic budgets. Creating this Energy Centre will help to alleviate these challenges.
